HAAWAII project has recently disseminated project results through two events (both partially coordinated by HAAWAII partners – BUT, DLR and IDIAP).
(1) Interspeech 2021, organised in an hybrid mode in September 2021, Brno, Czech Republic.
Boosting of contextual information in ASR for air-traffic call-sign recognition,
by M. Kocour
Robust Command Recognition for Lithuanian Air Traffic Control Tower Utterances,
by O. Ohneiser
Contextual Semi-Supervised Learning: An Approach To Leverage Air-Surveillance and Untranscribed ATC Data in ASR Systems,
by J. Zuluaga
All 3 papers were presented at the special session focused on automatic speech recognition in air-traffic management:
All presented papers at the session were peer-reviewed by an independent group of reviewers (mostly researchers and industrial partners active in speech and signal processing).
(2) During the Interspeech conference, HAAWAII (together with a sister ATCO2 EC project) organised a satellite workshop (organised at a partners’ university BUT) on the similar topic, inviting more than 40 attendees across the world. The workshop offered 6 specific works (2 of them related to results of HAAWAII) presented during one afternoon session.
